In Support of the Japanese People in the East Japan Disaster

Last week, a great earthquake took place near the east coast of Sendai, Japan. The subsequent tsunami caused a huge disaster, resulting in more than 7,000 death tolls, exceeding the casualties caused by the 1995 Hanshin Earthquake in West Japan.

The majority of casualties was caused not by the earthquake itself, but the tsunami. Japan has long been prepared for earthquakes. But in the case of tsunami, nothing could help when the wavefront is pouring in.

It is still unknown whether this earthquake is the Tokkai Great Earthquake foreseen by meteorologists. It is said that a great earthquake is to hit East Japan at the beginning of this century, as observed from past records.

Let us support that island country.
